What do you think about Shay's description of a model?
I think along with every other thing Shay says about the "Rustie's" she is wrong. Not all models are so skinny their sick.
Shay and Tally have a skewed view of our time, but what have they got right?
Every thing started when Shay and Tally went to the Rusty Ruins. They found out about roller coasters, cars and helicopters. and said we were lacking technology and of coarse we read magazines and cut down trees. But their wrong about one thing we are not lacking technology our technology is just different from theirs.

List the important events in this chapter in chronological order.
A guy picked Tally out of the water and put her on the Flying machine.
He gave her oxygen and she started breathing better. She went in the machine they started talking and his name was Tonk and he was a pretty and a Ranger from a nearby town.
He explained why he set everything on fire. Because the flowers Tally likes had a weird characteristic that destroyed all other life the only way to keep them away is to set them on fire.
He gave her new shoes and more water in her purifier. He found out she was going to smoke and dropped her off near shays last clue. She hiked up to the hill or bald head and waited.
Respond to the following quote-"Tally was stuck out here in the wild forever Ugly for life. Her only way home was to betray her friend."
If tally were stuck out in the wild for life i think she would eventually get to smoke and start a life there. However, this comment makes me believe even more she just wants to be pretty with Peris.

What do you think the flying machine was? Who was in it? Make a prediction.
I think it was a smaller airplane. In the airplane i think are people like David or maybe even David himself along with other people who follow him. I think they would be in there because their using old Rustie technology as transportation just to test it out.I predict that it is following Tally, and will show up many more times on her journey.

Have you ever made yourself do something that you didn't want to because you knew you had to?
Yes. Once when I was walking my dog she jumped into the lake after these people across it. I panicked and even though I didn't want to I jumped into the lake after her. When I got home i had to give my dog a bath and dry her off.
Predict what will happen next.
When Tally said something big was coming i thought that it was a storm. The noises she described made me think of what you hear during a Hurricane or Tornado. So i thought it was going to come and tear all Tally's things apart and possibly throw her off track.

Invent a dried food you would take on your journey if you were tally. What would it be? How would you make it?
If i were Tally i would take dried french fries and a cheeseburger. To make it i would get it wet and put it in a solar panel type thing to get the water out and eat it. If the sun wasn't out then i guess I'd be out of luck.
Make a list of the things you would miss about your home if you were forced to leave like Tally was.
If i had to leave my home i would miss my family, my friends,my dog,my room, going out to eat every Friday night with our neighbors,my TV and computer, and most importantly My street My street has the best neighbors and a lot of my friends we live together like a big happy family and i wouldn't trade them for the world.

Why do you think Tally ultimately decides to figure out where Shay is?
I think she wants to figure out where Shay is so she can become pretty and finally be with Peris. Deep down i honestly think she is in love with him as more than a friend. So when she becomes pretty he will finally see her pretty and he will fall in love with her.

Why do you think peris comes back.
I think Peris came back because he kind of likes Tally. But he might be using her to get popular in New Pretty Town.
EX- "When did you get so modest, Squint? All my Friends are fascinated"\

respond to the quote from the chapter titled "Ugly For Life "
"Every where she went, eyes looked away. But it was the most visible she'd ever felt."
I've had that feeling before to. You feel that every one saw your mistake or mishap and come to realize no one was watching but for the rest of the day you feel every one is laughing or talking about you. The whole time every one is not looking at Tally on purpose but to me that shows they no she's here.

summarize the chapter titled "Special Circumstances"
Tally Arrived at special circumstances and Dr.cable talked about shay and how they need to find her and her friends because they may have been tricked into going. Tally refused to tell on Shay. So doctor cable said until she does she wont turn pretty. Tally goes home to her dorm.
characterization of Dr.cable
split personality a cruel pretty face with an aqua line nose with sharp teeth gray eyes and sort of rude at times.

Summarize the chapter titled "Operation"
Tally was waiting to go to her operation outside the dorm. Finally the car came to pick her up, She got in and they left. She waited for an hour at the hospital when the Doctor finally came in and told her there were problems with her operation. So she left with the Doctor to see what he was talking about.

Respond to the following quote from the chapter titled "Last Trick". what does it mean to you?
"We don't have to look like every one else, tally, and at like every one else. We've got a choice. We can grow up any way we want to."
To me this quote means that shay believes that the operation changes every to be the same but it doesn't. There are differences according to tally. However to me personally i can see shay's point she doesn't want to take the road so many have followed. She wants to be normal or in this case different.

The 2 fights that broke out were a lot different the 1st Tally and Shay did as a prank was fake, acted out, and was in front of an audience. The second one was between Tally and Shay again and was real. They were fighting about the operation tally wants to get it but shay doesn't. Shay believes every one is equal, Tally doesn't. The outcome of the fake fight was good and pretty funny they didn't get caught. However the real fight they had was not so good. They both seemed really mad at each other.

What does the following quote from the chapter titled "Waiting For David" tell you about the city?
"That was one thing about being outside the city. It made all that nature stuff they taught us in school seem a lot more useful. She remembered now how rain water fell on the mountains and soaked into the ground."
It helps me put more of a mental picture in my head. How the land is in ruins and beat down not at all like it is know. Tally and shay probably think that these times were lacking technology and compared to their world know we are lacking technology, but what we've built up from is amazing. It also like their comparing the rusty ruins to dark unknown forest. With the same expression we would have from finding something in the forest from a long time ago.

Tally and Shay arrive at the rusty ruins. Shay and Tally explore and shay tells tally more. Then they go to the roller coaster and start to ride, and Tally actually enjoys it. Then Tally falls of but gets caught by the hover board. Tally gets mad at Shay for not telling her about the gap in the track that made Tally fall. Tally forgives shay and ask how she knows that it is called a roller coaster. Shay said a Friend told her. Tally ask if her friend is a pretty now Shay says no. Tally is surprised, and shay makes her promise that she wont tell her Friend never got the surgery, And they go to find Shays friend hiding in the Rusty Ruins.
Similes-

2." The Rustie's had been stuck down in these streets like a horde of rats trapped in a burning maze." pg.61

I agree with the statement tally made. If you know when every thing is gonna happen and how it will happen and the outcome of it all. You don't have the pleasure of finding out.I love surprises and unexpected events but only to some extent. I don't want such a big surprise i get a heart attack.
The History of Whitewater Rafting: "Back in 1958 when Jack Currey used to build rafts made from balsa wood to float Southern Utah's San Juan River, class IV and V whitewater was considered too risky to run recreationally. He decided that rubber army surplus rafts would much better handle the trials of whitewater as they did not get water-logged over time. However, after only a few trips it was readily apparent that the rubber rafts had their flaws as well. Because the rafts would fill with water in the bigger rapids, a continuous bailing effort was required, and on occasion the floor would tear on the jagged rocks.
One such occasion on a challenging section of the San Juan, a Currey guide accidentally tore the entire rubber floor out of his raft, leaving a suspended wooden floor hanging from the boat frame. The accident enabled the raft to self-bail itself through the entire whitewater expedition, giving the passengers a dry, safe, and comfortable ride.
Thus, river rafting history was made with the introduction of the first self-bailing rowing raft that has since revolutionized the river rafting industry.
From the experience on the San Juan River with balsa wood rafts, the Currey's have built the largest and the safest river running company in the world. Over the past 30 years, Steve Currey and his expedition team have taken over 1/4 million satisfied guests on their national and international river expeditions.
Tragically, Steve Currey passed away during the summer of 2006 due to brain cancer. His son Neal, following three deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as an Army Ranger, has taken the reigns and will continue the family adventure travel legacy beginning with trips in Chilean Patagonia on the Futaleufu and Figueroa Rivers starting December 15th of 2008."

I think the Rusty Ruins is an old town from the past that went on like how things are today. Before they had the idea and technology to come up with the whole pretty ugly idea.
My definition of peer pressure is when some one tries to convince you to do something you don't want to do or know is wrong.
One time when i was in a situation invloving peer pressure was in 4th grade. We had a new kid in our class and every one was calling him a certain name. My freinds joined in and told me to. I denied because i could tell by the look in his eyes that it really hurt his feelings. About a week later all my freinds ended up in the principals office and got in alot of trouble.

Reflect on the following quotes from the chapter, what does each mean to you?
Q-"Making ourselves feel ugly is not fun."... "This whole game is just designed to make us hate ourselves."
A- I agree with shay to me the whole point of the program is to make it seem like pretties are better , but their really not every one in the world is equal no matter what their physical properties.
Q-"Everyone judged everyone else based on their appearance. People who were taller got better jobs...people killed one another over stuff like having different skin colors."
A- I think that judging people by skin color, where they come from, and way of life is wrong, and people who judge using these ways are wrong. What people fail to realize is that racial discriminating hurts the person your discriminating. I know from personal experience.
Q-"It's the only way to make people equal."
A-people are already equal no one is better than the other so by making every one pretty you are not making a difference a pretty is just as important as an ugly.

In the movie Jimmy Neutron Jimmy builds a hover craft and uses it to go around town and fix problems that are usually started because of something he did.
I think pretties don't come back to uglyville because they think their to good for it know that their pretty. With the change on the outside i think comes change on the inside. The feelings they had before are not forgotten but more but at the bottom of things they care about. The only thing they seem to care about is having fun and being wild.
